Two cool shows from the mid-60's - which do you like best?

I like both of them. As a kid, though, I had more access to the Munsters, so I watched it more. The Addams Family would come on sporadically or late, so I would watch it when I could.

I definitely love The Munsters over The creepy Adams Family. I find the Admas Family to be gross and I was scared of cousin Itt and Grandmama when I was a little kid.

I love Herman and his family.I like how they represent classic monsters as opposed to The Adams Family just being plain old freaks and a corpse which is rather gross to me. The Munsters were fun but the Adams Family were glum.

Addams family. Both shows were funny, but Gomez and Morticia were cooler.

I loved the Addams family movies(too bad Raul Julia died  :\'( ). Maybe John Kerry could play Herman if they make a big-screen Munsters?  ;D

I always wondered if they're gonna be making a Munsters Movie anytime soon just like they did with The Addams Family years back? ???

I also remember when The Munsters Today was on the air. Oddly enough, it was gone before the first The Addams Family film was in theaters. I liked both families, including the 80s and 90s versions of them.

I don't remember the Munsters revival, but I do remember the Addams Family films. (Didn't view 'em, though. However, I became acquainted with the classic TV version in late 1991, when the first film hit theatres. This is because on Thanksgiving Day of that year, KCAL-9 (a Los Angeles television station) aired a day-long marathon of the TV series to promote the film, and I watched part of the marathon.)

The Munsters Today was shown on Friday when it first premiered, then I believe the slot was changed to sometime on Saturday in the early 90s.

My family used to have The Munsters Today on every now and then in the summer of 1990. We were not looking at it  intently, it was just on. Nothing ever really stood out about the show to me except the new Herman ( 8-P), lame jokes, and when the new Munsters became more like the Bundys in the last season.

The local TV networks used to do that all of the time in the early 1990s (after the ‘89 Batman came out). When Dick Tracy was in theaters in June of 1990, The Dick Tracy Show from ‘61 was on the air. As you mentioned, The Addams Family reruns were on TV for a whole day before the 1991 film was out. We already had the ‘66 Batman in syndication, so no adjustments to their schedules needed to be made for the release of Batman Returns. I was a fan of DeVito’s Penguin until he bit Josh’s nose , then I switched over to being a fan of Burgess Meredith’s Penguin. That was off topic, but that scene from Batman Returns was too much for me.

Aha... I just looked up The Munsters Today on Wikopedia. It is apparently a sequel to the original 60's sitcom, with the same main characters, just different actors playing them. And most of the airdates were Saturdays during the late 1980s/early 1990s, all in syndication.

I did like the costumes they wore.

It's kind of a tough call because they were both great shows, but I have to give the edge to The Munsters simply because it was cooler.

The Munsters had a much cooler theme song and their cars were ridiculous yet badass. The Munster Koach was awesome and Dragula was off the charts.  8)
