You for me, are sweet as roses in the morning
and you for me (forgot this part) like something rare,
the sidewalks in the street,
the concrete and the clay beneath my feet begins to crumble,
when you say good-bye and I see the mountains tumble.....when you say goodbye
my love and I will be in love eternally, that's the way
oooh the way it ought to be...all around, (etc. new verse)
I remember this song, I loved it too, can't think of the name but it may be mixed in the the above lyrics! I think it was an English group.

Whoopie, just found it :)
Unit Four + Two - Concrete And Clay Lyrics
You to me
Are sweet as roses in the morning
And you to me
Are soft as summer rain at dawn, in love we share
That something rare
The sidewalks in the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begins to crumble
But love will never die
Because we'll see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye
My love and I will be
In love eternally
That's the way
Mmm, that's the way it's meant to be
All around
I see the purple shades of evening
And on the ground
The shadows fall and once again you're in my arms
So tenderly
The sidewalks in the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begins to crumble
But love will never die
Because we'll see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye
My love and I will be
In love eternally
That's the way
Mmm, that's the way it's meant to be
The sidewalks in the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begins to crumble
But love will never die
Because we'll see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye
My love and I will be
In love eternally
That's the way
Mmm, that's the way it's meant to be
And that's the way
That's the way it's meant to be
That's the way
(that's the way it's meant to be)
Whoa, that's the way
That's the way it's meant to be

A really sweet cover of this was done in the late 80's by Martin Plaza from Mental As Anything.
I am not usually a covers fan but his voice really suited it.

Yeah it really did Bobby. It was on his solo release back then. I have the cassette somewhere. It was always one of my fave 60's songs and when he covered it I just liked it all over again.

oh and you won't believe my luck...I went to this cool site,...and requested the song, and within 12 hours I was jammin'.... ;D I'd never heard of Martin Plaza...but his version is good too? I did hear a version by another guy, I forget his name, but it didn't move me vocally like the version by Unit four plus 2...the lyrics are so sweet...it's a "happy" love song...not the typical woe is me...you broke my heart, and are tearing it apart, so blah blah... :o

Read a bio on Unit Four + 2 and they wrote a song in '65 called, You've got to be cruel to be kind. Remember Nick Lowe's cruel to be kind, circa 1982? Checking the lyrics DB gave credit to Lowe, unless he just used the same song title and lyrics and can do that, I don't know. Couldn't find lyrics for the Unit 4+ 2 version, anyone can shed light?

Hi all.
Now that you've helped find the other song, maybe you can help me find this one. I think it's an 80's hit. I'm not sure about the words but they go something like: "I feel so good when I help my fellow man, so I Keep my life in my window, I'd like to ease the pain that life can bring, help to find the peace that's here in me. I have been chosen for a work to do, to make this world a better place for me and you."
I thought the title was Keep My Life in my Window by The Temptations, but when I search for it I can't find it under either. Please help me find the title, the singer, the words and most of all the actual song on mp3 or cd, I'd be forever grateful.

Could it be you're looking for "I'll Keep a Light in My Window" (recorded multiple times by different artists)...? ???
I'm not sure, 'cause I don't know the song, and I can't find the lyrics either. :-\\
BTW: we have a separate section on this board for song lyrics searches/requests. You can find it right here. ;)

Hi Guys
I'm looking for a 70/80's song that goes something like: Now is the time, time to release, time to release, whoa. I'm not sure about the title nor the artist. It sounds like it could be Odyssey who sang Going back to my roots. I'm sure someone out there will recognise it.
Please help

It does exist somewhere on the internet but all I can find are remixes or a sample and not the full track. Please could anyone who has the mp3 of it please sent me one.
