Forgot just how many good songs were churned out this year...
From this section, 'Atlantis' (had Donovan been listening to 'Hey Jude'?), with 'Starshine' in runner-up spot...
Another couple of mentionables from our bit of the world...the party stomper 'Viva Bobby Joe' by The Equals, and the rocksteady classic 'Long Shot Kick De Bucket' by The Pioneers (very big with the skinheads...)

Out of the ones I like, which are:
Love (Can Make You Happy), Mercy
Good Morning Starshine, Oliver
More Today Than Yesterday, Spiral Starecase
Touch Me, Doors
Atlantis, Donovan
Traces, Dennis Yost & The Classics IV
Galveston, Glen Campbell
I'll go with an odd one
Love (Can Make You Happy), Mercy :)
Somebody already mentioned Nilsson's "Everybody`s Talkin`", but you skipped over some other great '69 songs:
I Want to Take You Higher - Sly & the Family Stone
Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye) - Steam
Pinball Wizard (or other songs from Tommy) - The Who
Soulful Strut - Young-Holt Unlimited
Things I'd Like to Say - New Colony Six
It's a Shame - Spinners
Something in the Air - Thunderclap Newman
21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson
Time Is Tight - Booker T. & The MG's
(they're for the next list ??) ???
:) ;D

I chose "Lay Lady Lay" (Bob Dylan) because it brings back a lot of childhood memories. My second choice would be "These Eyes" (The Guess Who). :)

Too many. Again, I like most of the songs on this list but my favorites are:
These Eyes
Touch Me
More Than Yesterday
Traces
This Magic Moment
I'm Gonna Make You Mine.
I can't help hearing the theme to Hawaii Five O without cringing. I did a dance to that theme one time and I'm not too sure if I have lived it down yet or not. :-[

Galveston, Glen Campbell
I predicted that one! ;D
I have to go with Galveston too, but it was a real close tie with "I'd Wait a Million Years." ;)

I hate these polls! You make me decide against great tunes!
1. More Today Than Yesterday
But only half as much as
2. Touch Me

I've gone for Touch Me. It's Getting Better would be my second choice - I can't believe no one's picked that yet.

I chose Blood, Sweat & Tears "You've Made Me So Very Happy" but I liked about a 1/3 more of what was on there.. "Galveston" being a close 2nd.
