This was a GREAT year for music! I had a tough time choosing, but I finally went with "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In", followed by "Get Together". 8)
Another favorite of mine from that year (though I don't see it listed) is "Everybody's Talkin'" by the late Harry Nilsson.

He's a great guy Tommy James, although its' not his real name, he lived in North Jersey and one time his business manager accidently gave me a business check that bounced for clothing he purchased and I had to track him to correct it, he did, it was an innocent book keeping error. So I voted for him, for sentimental reasons and I liked most of his songs too.

'Sugar, Sugar' was from 1969?? ::) Well, I guess it was the beginning of the 70s bubblegum pop phenomena

Fifth Dimension - Aquarius / Let The Sunshine In
Rolling Stones - Honky Tonk Woman
Three Dog Night - One
these are the three I probably listened to the most. We would buy 45's and play on our little phonograph. I vividly remember playing Honky Tonk Woman over and over and over.

Very tough choice but Gemini says it well for me. I was 10 in '69 and "Sugar Sugar" was the Bubblegum hit. As an adult, I wouldn't chosen "Crystal Blue" although it would have been a difficult choice -- so many good songs.
