Great pair! My favorite is "The Sound Of Silence", followed by "I Am A Rock" and "The Boxer". 8)

A deuced difficult one and no mistake...
I went for 'Mrs Robinson' (as did Mr Hoffman!!), closely followed by 'I Am A Rock' and 'Bookends' (strangely haunting...)
For all music lovers out there, try not to listen to 'The Sound Of Silence' as performed by the ever-smiling Irish trio - The Bachelors...painful!!

These four by them I like the most...
Bridge over Troubled Water
The Boxer
America
Hazy Shade of Winter
and my favorite would be between Boxer and Bridge, but I went with "The Boxer" tonight. :)
I'm surprised no one has done a S&G music poll until now.
;) ;D

How about "All of the above"? I LOVE S&G and really can't choose. Besides all the songs on the list, I also like "My Little Town", "America", and "Hazy Shade of Winter",

I agree.....I don't think there's any of their songs that I really hate, quite honestly. (except maybe Somewhere They Can't Find Me, but that wasn't a hit; just an album track) But I chose other, since my absolute favorites have to be The Dangling Conversation (not a real big hit from them, but I love it) and Kathy's Song. An absolutely beautiful song. Anyone else like that one too?
Oh, and America! :)

Before I started this poll I went through all the pages to see if there was a S&G poll already up. To my surprise, there wasn't!

I'm suprised to see my fave in the lead:
The Boxer
Paul Simon is my fave singer/songwriter. If I pick this as #1, then there's a huge tie at #2. ;)
And, redhead007, Kathy's Song would be in my top 5.

Too easy and cliche to say Mrs. Robinson. But I like Sounds of Silence and Hazy Shade of Winter.

Homeward Bound followed by The Rock
I am a rock, I am an Island
And a rock feels no pain
and an island never cries.
Wow, how many times did I sing that to myself while growing-up? :-\\

A Story.......a long time ago I was still at school and got talked into parting with my hard earned cash for a ticket to see the Beatles ( cannot stand the Beatles)
Went to the gig didn't hear one word they sang, headache.... went home.
The day after I heard that there was these 2 americans turned up at the folky pub I sometimes went to, Great, Fantastic.....Simon and Garfunkel in Camden London, in a pub, Free. I hated the Beatles even more....still do. With the exception of George Harrison who in my opinion had the most untapped talent than the other 3 put together.

I said Cecilia, but it was hard. I love The Boxer. I also like 59th St. Bridge Song and Red Rubber Ball. Plus their standards.
Was anyone else at their free Central Park concert in NYC (1982 maybe?). What a blast.

The Boxer. That song is just.......I get chillbumps and the whole nine whenever I hear it. Especially the ending of the song when the strings come in over their vocals. Just a beautiful piece of art that song is.

Had to go with "I am a Rock". For what he sang with irony, I sing with conviction.
But thanks to a "Mrs. Robinson" a few years back, I'm OK with that. Had the best, don't need the rest.
So here's to you, Mrs. Robinson, even though you'll never read this board.
Bo-ho-hoard.
Whoa-ho-hoard. :)
