Subject: Worst Movies: Turn of the 20th Century to the 1960's

I still haven't watched "Plan 9 from Outer Space", but I've seen my share of bad films... :P
1. Any '60's beach film like "Beach Blanket Bingo" & "Gidget"
2. "Gone With The Wind"
3. Any Shirley Temple film
4. Any musical...especially with Judy Garland, Debbie Reynolds, & Barbara Striestand
5. That Disney movie with the guy who turned into a dog
6. "Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs" (Disney's first "full length" animated feature)
7. That "prehistoric/cave people" movie from the '60's with Raquel Welch

7. That "prehistoric/cave people" movie from the '60's with Raquel Welch

IMO, "Gone With The Wind" is the most boring snooze fest I've ever seen. Just say it "doesn't stand the test of time".
I find Shirley Temple too cloying. She would make the Olsen twins look like the Hilton sisters,
BTW, I'm not a fan of "classic" films from the '30's & '40's. The only films from that era I like are Warner Bros./Looney Tunes, Fleischer (Popeye, Betty Boop), MGM ("Tom & Jerry" shorts, "Red Hot Riding Hood"), and a couple Disney animated shorts.

Yes, but its test of time has been over 60 years. Let's see how some of the big money makers for the last 20 years do or are thought of after they're over 60.
You need to take another look at movies made in the '30s and '40s (both foreign and domestic). There are some really good ones made during then. Same as for musicals made before say 1970.
It's sometimes interesting to see movies made by people not influenced in anyway by television for the last 50 years.

Santa Claus Conquers The Martians (featuring Pia Zadora as the Martian Dropo)
Citizen Kane (I don't see how this became a classic, the ending sucked)
Everything's Ducky (Buddy Hackett, need I say more?)

Robinson Crusoe On Mars (Adam West of TV Batman fame plays an astronaut killed-off in the first 60 seconds of the movie, best part of the flick)

Which was the beach movie with the British group, the Potatoheads? Also which was the one where the beach kids did a musical number previewing all these dances, like the Watusi, the Frug, the Boogaloo, etc., I liked seeing all those old dances!

3. I agree...Shirley Temple is annoying. The only ST film I can stand is The Blue Bird, and that is only once in a while.

Except for classics like 'Viva Las Vegas' and 'Jailhouse Rock', most of Elvis's movies in the 60's were really bad.

I am not a big Barbara Stristand or Shirley Temple film fan either.
