Well, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones are obviously the first names that come to my mind, but there are a few others
whose songs I like such as the Dave Clark Five, The Hollies, and The Kinks. :)

Yes, Herman's Hermits had several U.S. hits, and also Chad & Jeremy, Maryanne Faithful, and I think the Silkie were Brits, they did "You've got to hide your love away" really mellow.
