Subject: Anybody Remember Gulf Oil Horseshoes?
Anybody remember those orange self-stick horseshoes that the Gulf Oil gas stations gave out in the 60's? ???
I think it was some sort of promotion that their gasoline gave your car a "kick". Me and my brothers would pester my Dad to get gas at Gulf so we could get those horseshoes. 8)
Then we'd stick 'em all over the walls in our basement. Lotsa fun!!! ;D

sure do...the family never went there but they were around on cars made of some fadable plastic I think because when I noticed them they were a pinkish orange not deep orange...and may have fallen off a lot

Heh heh... Yeah, looking back they were really cheap and they did not stick too well. But as a kid they were so cool. 8)

I also remember Cities Service gas stations and their "Eager Beaver" service slogan. We had a few of 'em here in Atlantic County, one in Pleasantville, the other was in Ventnor or Margate. All those towns are in Southern NJ for anyone who wonders where they are. ;)

Cool. No more green stamps, but they now give out S&H GreenPoints at my Mom's grocery. You need to get a bazillion of them to get anything cool though. :-/
The big stamps where I grew up were King Korn Stamps. We got all kinds of neet stuff with those. :D

Yes. And they also gave out those orange balls for your radio antennae with the 76 on them.

The only thing they give away for free at a gas station today is dirty looks. :-/
