Subject: Lesley Gore

Who was she?
I know she was the '60's equivalent to Debbie Gibson with hit songs like "It's My Party", the only song I can tolerate, and "You Don't Own Me".
Though I prefer Petula Clark. 8)
Was she controversial like Britney Spears who probobably got banned on "Ed Sullivan" or "American Bandstand"?
Or wrote/produced songs like Debbie Gibson.
I'm just curious.

Thanks.
And I didn't know her producer was the legendary Quincy Jones. 8)
To bad that her fame fizzled quickly in the mid/late 1960's.
And Britney, who came around in 1999, is still popular today. :P
I'd rather listen to "It's My Party" or "The Way Boys Are", an OK song, than anything from Britney Spears today.
Debbie Gibson? I like some of her material, but that's another topic.

In Leslie's song, Judy's turn to cry, there was a good drum track.

I like her, and I like "You Don't Own Me" the best, myself!

"California Nights" is good too.
