Subject: (Very) Early Talk Shows
What are some of the earliest talk show that you remember. The first one which I remember is The Alan Burke Show. It must have been on between 1964-1967 ??? sometime-one of those years, because I remember seeing it while living in a particular house. If anyone has any info about that show-please post. ;)
Alan Burke used to throw people off his show if he didn't like what they had to say - it was funny to see that back than, as a kid. ;D
I remember The Virginia Graham Show. In the early 90s, I saw Virginia Graham in studio at The Joan Rivers Show. I always loved Ms. Graham. :D

What about Phil Donahue? Didn't his talk show premier in the 60's?

Yes. I remember seeing the Phil Donahue Show whenever I'd be home from school. I think his first guest ever was Madelyn Something Ohare-the atheist. I remember that back in the early days, there'd be just one guest, less commercials and no film clips or dramatizations of what they were talking about.
I know I watched PD in the mid -late 60s, sometime around than.

I really don't remember too many of the ones in the 60s. I remember the ones from the 70s better. Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Dinah Shore, and of course Phil Donahue.

I remember him. He did a lot of interviews. He was the "Barbra Walters" of his day.
