Because I don't like The Everly Brothers.
Not everybody have the same taste of music.
And "All I Have To Do Dream" is a clssic.
But it also could've been done by Thr Righteous Brothers, Joe Cocker, Dion, etc.
And personally, I don't like much of the oldies.
I'm more into hard rock & new wave.

"All I Have To Do Is Dream" just has an eerie sound to it that causes me to feel emotional.
And it's the only song I like from The Everly Brothers.
Though I look at them as a frothy pop duo from the early 60's.
I'm more into prolific 60's artists like Bob Dylan or The Beatles.
The Everly Brothers weren't that important.
Their other hits aren't even that memorable.
Probably to fans like your self, but not my type of listening.

Subject: Re: Favorite Everly Brothers tunes
Indeed it is. Their first Warner Brothers' 45. Record number 5151.
The flipsides of their Warner Brothers recordings:
http://everlybrothers.com/html/disc.html#Warner
I actually prefer a lot of the flipsides to the singles themselves.
Just for a starting list:
I probably prefer AIY to Cathy's Clown
Stick With Me Baby I've found my ears agree with more than Temptation (though I love them both)
It's Been Nice (Goodnight) which I prefer to I'm Afraid
Love Her better than The Girl Sang The Blues (I hadn't heard the latter until recently. The former was a minor Walker Brothers hit, I believe.)
Hello Amy is one of my top unlisted tracks. I took a long time to get into
Ain't That Lovin' You Baby.
Don't Forget To Cry I prefered to The Ferris Wheel. Pretty close now.
A few others...
I still have to pick up:
The Devil's Child/She Never Smiles Anymore (either or both)
Talking To The Flowers (flipside of Mary Jane)
A Voice Within (flipside of Love Of the Common People)
RCA Recordings:
I have heard all these tracks:
Ridin' High I had on Audiogalaxy before it cut me off.
Stories We Could Tell, Lay It Down, Paradise from the RCA greatest hits.
Not Fade Away I heard and recorded straight on the off-chance.
I've still got a lot to hear of their later Mercury/Polygram material post 1984.
Their singles of the time were:
On The Wings Of A Nightingale/
Asleep I've got the former on the white CD.
The Story Of Me/The First In Line I used to have TFIL on AG, but no longer on CD.
Born Yesterday/Don't Say Goodnight Neither I own on CD as yet, I've tracked down the vinyl, though... DSG was one of my favourite later tracks.
These Shoes flipsided on I Know Love The flipside was one of two Neary/Photoglo tracks on the respective CD release, and had one of my favourite chorus/verse counterbalances. I am yet to hear the former.
The 12 inch promo I Can't Help It I also picked up from AG on the offchance.
I've also picked up most Don and Phil solo recordings, except for:
Don
Tumblin' Tumbleweeds/Only Me (Ode)
Yesterday Just Passed My Way Again/Never Like This
Phil
Better Than Now I prefer to the A-side New Old Song)
I need to hear both of Words In Your Eyes/WTBPBI Ragtime
Phew... all those tags.

I like alot of their hits, but I got kind of sick of
"Cathy's Clown" (seems played more than others - and just not as good a groove IMO, maybe too much screeching?). It's good but the bottom of the list of Everlys for me.

Ugh. Great Country Hits. It's not so much that I don't like the idea, but some of the song selection on the album could have been better. On the original 1963 release:
1. Oh, Lonesome Me
2. Born to Lose (Brown/Daffan)
3. Just One Time (Gibson)
4. Send Me the Pillow
5. Please Help Me, I'm Falling (Blair/Robertson)
6. I Walk the Line (Cash)
7. Lonely Street (Belew/Sowder/Stevenson)
8. Silver Threads and Golden Needles (Reynolds/Rhodes)
9. I'm So Lonesome
10. Sweet Dreams (Gibson)
11. This Is the Last Song I'm Ever Gonna Sing
The definite highlight being track 3. Or track 7. Or something... >grin<
