Subject: Rubettes.
Having just read the thread on the Archies it made me think of the Rubettes.I loved Sugar Baby Love.I went to see them live a couple of years ago with Alvin Stardust and Suzi Quatro.(my beloved thought it would be a laugh and he wasn't wrong!?!) Anyway The guy from the Rubettes hit all those high notes spot on live, most impressive. To be fair they were the best bit of the night!

Hey Gis !
I don't know if they just got to my part of the world late, or whether I only heard of them later on, but I remember them from 1974, on my trip to New Zealand.
Sugar Baby Love, and You Make Me Feel Brand New by the Stylistics were about the only two songs that New Zealand radio played !
Those were the days !

I was in Australia from July 1972 thru July 1975. Suzy Quatro was very big there. I don't think I ever heard her records in the US though. Maybe they were being played here while I was there in Aussieland.
