Subject: Any Mario Lanza or Kathryn Grayson fans?
Written By: Joseph_Hayes on 08/14/02 at 06:02 p.m.
I hated when the musicals were no longer produced in
Hollywood. Anybody remember when Judy Garland was
the rave or when Barbra Streisland made her TV debut?
How about when Carole Burnette made her debut on
the Tonight Show and sang "I fell in love with John Foster
Dulles" the hated Secretary of State. I knew then she'd
be a star just as surely as I knew Barbra Streisand would
be.
Just wanted to see if anybody liked some of the same
performers I did.

I like Mario (my mom loves him), and Kathryn Grayson was a great singer. I LOVE Judy - no one can equal her in sheer entertainment value. I love real musicals - not the cr*p they dare call musicals now, since they really died mid-60s. Not a big Streisand fan, but I do think she's very talented and had some great songs. I liked Carol Burnet too - used to watch some of the latter of her shows, and plenty re-runs too!
