Subject: Anyone remember "Odd Rods" or "Wacky Packages"?
Hey,does anyone remember the odd rod or wacky pack stickers???In 1971,we were living in London, and my brother and I collected"Odd Rod"stickers. They had goofy pictures of monsters on these souped up hotrods, they were neat.In 1974,or thereabouts,Topps chewing gum came out with all these gross stickers picking fun of brand name products. The one I remember most is"Soggy Babies Candy"taken from "Sugar Babies".I think there was also "Crust" for "Crest".Can't seem to think of anymore.Who can help?????

I teach in an old High School building. You can see the history of bubblegum stickers by looking inside the door of any locker. They're all there, from the sixties to the present.

Oh yeah! I remember Wacky Packages from the mid 70s. I loved them. I was in middle school and covered my notebooks in those things. I remember those examples and also remember "Yubum" Coffee, "Dampers (instead of Pampers)..sure to rust your hampers!" Pupsi Cola, and more...I recently bought a bunch of unopened Wacky Packages from a fun retro collectables store in Chicago. I'll save the stickers but I dont think I'll be chewing the gum...

Yes, I had the Wacky Package Stickers from the late 60s ! There was one for Hertz Rent A Car "Oh how it Hurts !", Lavoris, Crest/Crust ! Have you seen the website which someone made that has so many of the old Wacky Packages ? I don't have the url handy, but it's a great one.
