Subject: Simon and Garfunkel
Sorry I know it's sad but I just had to get on here first and spell Art Garfunkel's name right those old posts were driving me nuts!?!Anyway 'I am a rock' is still my favorite by them.Oh and slight change of subject but as Art Garfunkel did the song ....we were discussing 'Watership Down' at work the other day and all of us admitted to crying at the end!!Anyone else the same??
Subject: Re: Simon and Garfunkel
To be honest Gis, have never seen the film, but love the song
Subject: Re: Simon and Garfunkel
I've not seen the movie either, and for that matter I can't recall the song. Given how big a fan of S&G my mother is, I've probably heard it numerous times, but it's just not coming to me at the moment...

Naah... me, too, but I didn't want to come over as too pedantic and nit-picking. Not that it usually worries me, I guess ;-)

You most definitely were not !
It ranked right up there with the mis-spelling of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida that was floating around on one of the boards.

The Boxer

I think 'America' is my all time favourite. I cannot hear that song without singingas loud as possible, 'Counting the cars on the New Jersey turnpike, they've all come to look for America'. :)

Heh - you can hear the audience in "Concert In Central Park" give a HUGE cheer when that line comes up :)

Simon and Garfunkel are timeless.....some bands don't hold up well after 30+ years or any long length of time...but these guys have stood the test of time....their songs of alienation and searching for oneself can still ring true for anyone living in the '00s.
Just wanted to add my two cents..... :) Who else agrees with me?
Subject: Re: Simon and Garfunkel
I agree
Subject: Re: Simon and Garfunkel
One of my favorite S&G songs is "A Most Peculiar Man".

I like that song too, but here in America they spell it "favorite" :) both are right though...my English teacher used to mark it wrong when I spelled with the "u" (I came from Hong Kong where we learned UK English)

I know what you mean.I'm from the US and I have been in Scotland for a year and I always have to try to remember how to spell things the right way depending on who I'm writing to.
Subject: Re: Simon and Garfunkel
I know I keep hearing this specific Paul Simon song.It must be from one of his albums. It has a latin beat to it plus it sounds very funky with horns. But I don't know what song it is.See if you can help me.Thanks.I may be 30 but when I hear a certain song,I recognize it right away.-howard- ;)
