The DJ service in question is still cranking out good stuff every month, but 2002 was a high point for Hallowe'en mixes.  Hallowe'en 2002: Music Factory Mastermix Issue 195.  

If you want it before you throw that party on Monday night, you're going to have to hunt for it.  Fortunately, there are websites where media's served up hot, almost like it's on fire.  If you're working at someone else's party on Monday night, you probably already own it.  So I won't feel too bad if you take this post the wrong way and do anything naughty that might end up with it sitting on your hard drive a few minutes from now.

A quick browse through the very early issues reminds me of the vast quantities of crap I bought...

Look at it another way.  By the time that Ghostbusters mix came out, it was all digital.

But once upon a time - back in the very early days of the DJ service world - what any semi-talented amateur can do with free software and a couple of hours, these guys did with nothing more than tape and tape.  As in reels of magnetic tape on reel-to-reel recorders, and Scotch tape to splice the mixes together. 

Take it from Dakeyne himself: In the early days of DMC (ca. 1984/85), he physically spliced tape to remix stuff.

Now I've gotta dig out the stuff I never ripped to find an old mix from the late 80s.  In time for next year, or so I hope :)

Believe it or not, I actually attempted this a few times with cassette tape, scissors and sticky tape!  :o
