Subject: Shortest-lasting fads you've ever seen

What are some fads you remember that didn't last very long?
I remember, in late 2008, when denim waistcoats were real popular with women. I don't see those anymore, though.
I also remember sequin being very popular amongst young ladies when I was in junior high in the mid '00s.

Wearing a headband across the forehead instead of in your hair popped up in 2007 (60's revival?) and sort of faded out before December of that year.

That was in style when I was in junior high, circa 2004 - 2006.

Back in the seventies there was the lucky rabbit's foot key chain.
Then there was the Eddie Rabbitt's foot key chain. Boy, that one didn't last long! Phew!

One of the shortest fads I have seen over the years must be the skinhead haircut.

The shortest fad I've ever seen was the Tecktonik fad. The fad was extremely popular in France (it may still be, I don't know I don't live in Europe) but it somehow made its way to Canada and exploded in popularity here in Canada from late 2008- to mid 2009 then it just faded away. We even had a Tecktonik dance battle at our school -.- so ridiculous...
I remember there being a Korean exchange student in our school during the fad. She must have thought it was the way Canadians danced :P

A Dutch hype called jumpstyle, spring/summer 2007. About half of the Dutch population was dancing the same way at the time, on the same dumb dance beats.
Two big hits in this genre:

After a couple of month, there was a even jumpstyle version of our national anthem. :-\\

Another real low; the man in this video was a famous Dutch politician. At this moment, the hype was almost ending already.

The hype lasted about 4, 5 months...
------------------------------------------------------------
And 10 years earlier, there was a hype of making happy hardcore versions of Dutch children songs, completed with VERY stupid video clips. Also lasting at the most a half year. The first three videos are from the biggest act in this genre, called 'Hakkuhbar'.
And I can tell you, almost all these video clips were shown VERY much at our own version of MTV, called TMF. ::)

One music trend that lasted 15 minutes in the late 90's(late1997/early 1998) I think: that "Swing Music Trend" with acts like the "Cherry Poppin Daddies" I think and "Brian Setzer Orchestra".
