I planned to make this topic in the 1990s forum, but I don't want people to think that I'm creating another 90s kid topic, so I posted it here.
Someone here said that a person born in 1987 was too young to remember 1990 to be a true 90s child, and I think that it is false. A lot of people don't do their research. A 1987er is most likely going to be 3 years old in 1990. According to numerous child psychologists, health experts, medical doctors, and all of the other resources, most people remember their earliest childhood clearly at the age of 3 years old and 4 years old. So, since a 1987er was 3 years old in 1990 and 12 years old in 1999, that makes that individual the last true 90s child because in order to be a true 90s child, you have to remember 1990 to 1999. I believe that you have to be 3 years old and over in 1990 to be a true 90s kid, and 1987 is a great cutoff as the last true 90s child.
Childhood ranges from 3-12 because like I said numerous times in other topics that most 3-year-olds start pre-K. Most 3-year-old's motor skills are more mature and advanced than a 2-year-old's motor skills. Most 3-year-old's talking skills are more advances than 2-year-olds' talking skills. Most 3-year-old's memory skills are more advanced, and that's why most adults remember being 3 years old at the earliest, and not 2 years old. Most 3-year-old had their first taste of knowing their surroundings more than 2-year-olds.
Someone said that a 1987er was too young to remember and appreciate Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in 1990, and I think that's a lie because since a 1987er was 3 years old in 1990, most likely a 1987er IS going to remember the TMNT movie in 1990 when it was HUGE, and they will appreciate TMNT the most since they were 3 in 1990. Anybody born before 1987 are true 90s kids. Childhood ranges from 3-12. When you turn 13, you are a TEENAGER, not a CHILD. There's a DIFFERENCE between a TEENAGER and a CHILD, so how is it that a 1986er is the last true 90s kid when he turned 13 in 1999? A 1987er was a child from 1990 to 1999. A 1987er spend ALL of his/her childhood in the 1990s. So the cutoff of 90s children is 1987.
Now, since I was born in 1977, I am the last true 80s child since I was 3 in 1990 and 12 in 1989, and I remember being 3 years old in 1980 to 12 years old in 1989. Anybody born before 1977 are the true 80s kids because they experienced the whole 80s as kids. I remember being 3 years old, living in Broad and Wyoming Sts. in 1980. I remember when 1980 music still sounded like disco music. I remember listening to "Upside Down" by Diana Ross in the summer of 1980 when my mother took me to Wildwood. I remember watching Alice, Too Close For Comfort, Mork and Mindy, Chips, and Fantasy Island in 1980. I may not UNDERSTAND it, but at least I REMEMBER it in clear picture. The point that I'm making is that those who were born in the 7th year of the previous decade are the last child of the following decade.

I think it's false too. I remember 1990. I even remember my third birthday. Which, was the day Desert Storm started. August 2nd 1990. I had a historic 3rd birthday. :D
I loved being a 90s child. Kinda wish I had the 80s too though. :P Pity I didn't.

I know. It seems like everytime they talk about the 80s and how it was as children, it's like they brush the 1977ers to the sides like we don't existed, like we didn't experienced the 80s in its entirety, and I'm sick and tired of it. They make it seem like we're too young to remember the early 80s when I think that it's a bunch of bullcrap! The latest 80s child they ALWAYS focus on are those born in 1976. Never mind those who were born in 1977. 1976 and 1977 are ONLY a year apart, so basically we both pretty much experienced the same thing. A year apart doesn't make a difference. 1976ers and 1977ers BOTH remember the early 80s, mid 80s, and late 80s. Both 1976ers and 1977ers were in preschool in the early 80s and middle school in the late 80s. We both started elementary school in the early 80s. We both started high school in the early 90s and graduated in the mid 90s and started college in the mid 90s. The ONLY difference is that we are a year apart, and it doesn't make a difference. Those who were born in the 6th and 7th year of the decade are different from others who were born in the same decade. Those born in the 6th and 7th year of the decade have their entire childhood in one decade and adolescence and young adulthood and the other decade. I can relate more to someone born in 1976, 1977, and 1978.

that's interesting. Do you think you have anything in common with someone born in the early 70s? Like '70-'72? Idk, i just think those born at the very beginning like 70-71 are hybrids. It's gets kinda confusing lol. By 1983 they were already 12-13 and were probably "too old" for 80s kids stuff. They were in middle school.

I don't have anything in common with those born in the very early 70s. My sister is a prime example as of why I don't get along with those born in the early 70s. My sister was born in 1970, and even though my sister, my brother, and I are born in the 70s, we are totally different. I can relate a little more to my brother who was born in 1974. I said that I can relate to someone born in 1976, 1977, and 1978.
