Gotta watch Death Wish just to see Jeff Goldblum in his first film, but I don't recall if he ever gets his "comeuppance" from Bronson.
The ones after the first are pretty bad, but who can forget Death Wish 3 and the day the Giggler died?

Or how to get there!
I suspect the gangsters in the "Police Academy" sequels might have been a spoof on the "Death Wish" gangsters!
But doesn't everybody get a vicarious thrill, as with Dirty Harry? Let's cut the red tape and the b.s., and get 'er done! It is at once militaristic and rogue. Americans have bought into this for generations...

Wait a minute:
You're supposed to say:
"Since when do you like a cheese-boiga?"

Since the internet brought us Lolcats. Look, the film got a lot of things right, but there were some things even Charles Bronson couldn't predict.

Paul Kersey's best gag was the board of nails under the window. I wonder how many paranoid a-holes made one of those, got drunk and passed out on it.
The problem for the franchise is the Paul Kersey character never took on a life of his own. If you say, "Dirty Harry" people know exactly who and what you're talking about. It could be sarcastic or sincere. If you say "Paul Kersey," people will ask, "Was he in the Jefferson Airplane?"
:D
