Subject: George Harrison To Get Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star
Written By: anabel on 04/04/09 at 10:52 pm
It's about time. Better late than never.
George has always been my favorite Beatle, hands down. His birthdate is 2 days before mine, and if I had just been born 20 years sooner......
I know this "honor" would mean absolutely nothing to him if he were here, but I appreciate the fact that he is so well remembered.

Harrison deserves a star. Not only was he a great singer but he helped out a lot of struggling movie projects.

for anyone that has not viewed The Concert For George, it's an excellent tribute directed by Eric Clapton with many of George's friends playing George's music. there's a great Indian music concert also, with Ravi Shankar's daughter Anoushka directing and also playing the sitar with Jeff Lynne of ELO.
I highly recommend watching this DVD 8)

I second that recommendation! I got it as a birthday gift when it first came out and I LOVE it! It's a 2 disc set with about 5 hours of music and tributes. I've watched it a few times! Love the Monty Python bits and bonus material, like the backstage stuff. His son Dhani is the spitting image of him-you can see how much he is like his Dad. That concert was the best thing his friends could ever have done for him. :)
Did you know that Norah Jones is also a child of Ravi Shankar?

yes, i know about Norah. I got my DVD as a gift too. The Monty Python bit is great and it's cool that they let Tom Hanks be one of the gang. Dhani is a George replica, for sure. it's really good. I may have to watch it this weekend.
