Any Stevie Wonder fans out there?
I really love his music.
What are your favorites?
Some of mine:
You and I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7oxc-UtUFE
My Cherie Amore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69K1Olgij_s
Superstition http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDZFf0pm0SE
Ebony and Ivory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZtiJN6yiik
I just called to say I love you
Higher Ground http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH3EaO5AMDU
Part-time lover http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll6LLGePYwM
Happy Birthday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FchMuPQOBwA
Isn't she lovely? ]
Living for the City
Ah heck, let's just say pretty much his whole catalogue! lol
He was married (at one time) to singer, Syreeta Wright, whom I also adored!
Some of Stevie's songs have been sampled over the years, which I think generally have been ok.
Coolio sampled Pastime Paradise for his Gangster's Paradise (then Weird Al parodied Gangster's Paradise for Amish Paradise) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=840uku8_T4Q
Ginuwine sampled Visions for his song I'll Do Anything/I'm Sorry
Livin' It Up by Ja Rule sampled Stevie Wonder's "Do I Do"
Will Smith would use "I Wish" as the basis for the theme song to his movie, Wild Wild West.

I always liked "Superstition" and "Part-Time Lover". RHCP did a very good cover of "Higher Ground".

I used to like "Isn't She Lovely" until like a zillion people chose it as their audition song for American Idol
My favourite will always be "Part-Time Lover". Back in the late 80s, there was a show called 'Incredible Sunday' and on one show, this guy used the palm of his hand to make a hand print painting of Steve Wonder and he did this while Part Time Lover played. I always remembered that LOL
In the early 00s, the British (and now defiunct) boy band Blue did a great version of 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered'

Stevie Wonder is awesome! Was going to download some of his songs off of itunes but I decided that it would be better just to buy the cd of his greatest hits since I look most of his songs. Hard to pick a favorite.

He rarely put a foot wrong until his 'muse' deserted him sometime in the 80s...
A favourite of mine which has the rare distinction of bettering the original!
Sadly, I've never quite forgiven him for 'I Just Called To Say I Love You'! :P

I think the instrumentation is what murdered that song. The programmed synth was just too too much. ;D However, if you listen to him singing it live sans keyboard, it's not as bad as remembered. In fact I'm going as far as to say I quite like it again! * jeng jeng jeng *

Anyone remember the Stevie Wonder medley by Stars on 45 / Starsound?
Internationally, it was known as "Stars on Stevie". In North America, it was known as "Stars on 45 III (A Tribute to Stevie Wonder)"

Jodeci covered it in the 90's, but it's not nearly as good as the original, IMO.

Actually it was because of Jodeci that I knew and loved it. ;D
