Subject: Your Favorite Guitarist

Mine without a doubt is Lindsey Buckingham - The guy just owns that guitar every time he plays it. Throughout the years his voice has lost it a bit, but his skills as a guitarist have not slipped even one iota of an inch. On top of it, he plays with his fingers, which I've heard from many is much harder to do than with a pick. To top it off, Buckinham can not read music and plays all by ear. His solo in "Go Your Own Way" is one of my all time Favorites.

I can't say I have a favorite guitarist, there are a few that I could list. I think Lindsey Buckingham is the most
underrated rock guitarsist as well as Neil Young, two of my favorites. Who else would I list....
Alvin Lee, Robin Trower and Frank Marino.

Andrés Segovia
I went to see him once. It was in a very churchlike setting, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Art Museum. He was playing an uptempo tune and everyone was sitting there with their hands in their laps quiet as church mice, except me. I just couldn't keep from bopping my head around and smiling. At the end of the song he smiled at me and winked, we both chuckled. I have never forgotten that.

Prince. ;D (and I've never seen anyone with a variety of guitars like him.)
Eddie Van Halen is a close second. I enjoy the solo he did on Beat It. ::)
BB King is close third. Not by choice, it's just I know his music because my father plays his music ALL THE TIME.

From the 90s, I think Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains deserve mentions. Morello played the guitar in the most creative and innovative ways.

What, no love for Joe Satriani?
Surfin' With The Alien and Back to Shalla-Bal are the two tracks on my playlist voted "most likely to get me a speeding ticket".
