Subject: Worst Broadway/Musical Songs
Written By: HawkTheSlayer on 09/06/06 at 3:32 am
We have the "Best of Bradway" thread in here; why not the "Worst Of Broadway"?
My personal picks are as follows:
-76 Trombones (I'm sorry, I always found "The Music Man" obnoxious beyond belief!!!)
-We're Not Gonna Take It (I like "Tommy", just not this one...I felt Townshend could've done better)
-I Talk To the Trees (from "Annie Get Your Gun"...anyone ever HEAR this ridiculous song?)

FYI "I Talk to the Trees" was from "Paint Your Wagon" and I agree-stupid song. In the movie Clint Eastwood got to sing it. :D

Yeah. It came out in 1969 with Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood. I have it on video. It is a good film (with the exception of Clint singing "I Talk to the Trees" that I usually fast foward through. :P)

"Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors (and I liked the movie)
"Beauty School Dropout" from "Grease" (Good advice poorly handled)
"T & A" from "A Chorus Line"
And other too numerous to mention.

The songs from Sweeny Todd are not in the same class as a Rogers/Hammerstein musical.
