Some people get pretty weirded out by my tastes in music.  A caller to my radio program asked me if the music I broadcast could cause psychosis.
I don't think there's been a case in the annals of psychiatry of music ever causing psychosis, but I'm willing to set a precedent.

Then there is the sub-culture known as electroacoustic music.  To do it well is to know and love sound for sound's sake as well as sound for music's sake. Challenge assumptions about what music is or is not. There's a great abundance of creativity out there.

The old bastid always found creative ways of ripping us about our tastes in music.  And I knew darn well who Rachmaninoff was, I was going to ask him which concerto, overbearing late-Romantic that he is (Rachmaninoff, not my father, well maybe him too).  Anyway, when my sister was going through her Ian Anderson phase, he used to refer to "Jethro Dull."  That kind of juvenile cr*p!

As I get older I notice things come out in 3 to 5 year cycles when my brother and I refer to dad, "Remember the time the old SOB did such and such?"
